Our vision for the ‘Best Practices in Chiropractic Academy’ stemmed from a desire to enhance the diagnostic and treatment skills of chiropractic physicians and track outcomes of care. Outcome based care will win at the end of the day, and our profession is at a very critical juncture. We must be able to prove our effectiveness in outcomes or we will be phased out of the future of health care. That means being able to standardize the diagnosis and treatment among our doctors and track the outcome of their care - collectively. I am happy to say a successful model has been created and we are ready to expand the offering of this academy to the profession. It is our vision to literally flood the literature with outcome studies in a timely manner that proves what we see every day in our practices.
My colleagues and I also agreed we needed not only a way we could learn from each other during the process but also a solid source upon which to build our curriculum. We were impressed with Dr. Thomas Souza’s book “Differential Diagnosis and Management for the Chiropractor”. We wondered if he was still alive, so we “Googled” him and found out he was not only alive but well! Our conversations and dialogue with him led us down an exciting path: a path that brings our doctors into a new level of diagnostic acumen, a new level of effectiveness in care and a regeneration of the great relationships we can have as a family that will no doubt last a lifetime. We were pleasantly surprised by the latter as an outcome of this process. If you are looking for purpose in practice and are willing to be part of this revolution in finally validating our profession through outcomes, make an investment in yourself & enlist in the Academy. You won’t regret it.

As a participant in the inaugural, pilot program for "Best Practices in Chiropractic Academy", interacting with colleagues with clinical case studies was a refreshing experience, sharing experiences we have had in the clinical setting. I am grateful for and I look forward to continuing to grow these new collegial friendships. In this health-care transitional environment we are all currently in, this program was also very helpful in refining my diagnostic accuracy, and assisting in clinical decision making with challenging clinical presentations. Exposure to new orthopedic and functional tests which are supported in the literature was very useful for a longtime practitioner. This program would be an excellent choice for any doctor interested in improving his or her clinical expertise and for enhancing their professional image in the environment in which they practice.

This seminar is invaluable. It provides you with the "gold standard" in history, exam, diagnosis and treatment options, along with networking with your colleagues. It has helped propel my practice and my clinical expertise ahead of what I expected. The friendships and camaraderie that have been cultivated are also beyond any of my expectations. It has helped me re-energize my practice and validates everything I do. It’s a must for all practicing Chiropractors.

The Best Practices Academy was one of the best seminars I have ever attended. There were no doctors reading the newspaper or playing on their computers, all of the doctors in attendance were there to learn. The interaction among the attendees during the small group discussions was tremendous. I was able to use the information from the case studies and lecture as soon as I returned to my clinic on Monday morning. Plus, the resource information that I received is invaluable. It was also very exciting to see actual outcome data that was gathered from the doctors in the seminar. I highly recommend this seminar!

I have been looking for a new spark to my practice and love for chiropractic for a few years. We all have a tendency to stagnate and not keep up on our new educational interests. I had the pleasure of speaking with a couple classmates, Dr. Scott Munsterman and Dr. Doug Caron, who encouraged me to look to Chiropractic Associates of South Dakota and the new, visionary work they where doing with the South Dakota DC's and the reimbursement that was associated with that credentialing.
This led me to enroll and be a part of the introductory sessions for Best Practices Academy. The work that Dr. Souza has placed before us, the challenging use of our skills as a clinician, the protocols used to arrive at an accurate diagnosis and the care that is and could be provided, has improved my doctoring skills immensely. Best Practices has given the Chiropractic profession a standard of care to rank with any Medical practitioner as second to none. It has also giving me confidence that the diagnosis I arrive at is correct and accurate and that the care I am providing the best care possible to my patients.
I highly recommend any DC attend the Best Practices Academy and sharpen their clinical skills and assist the chiropractic profession in a leadership role in the new age of modern health care. The US will be looking for new, cost effective health care professionals for the future. Best Practices Academy is the answer for DC's interested in solidifying their practice and the chiropractic profession to advance its image in the HealthCare field.
Dr. Tom Souza, Dr. John Carr, Dr. Wayne Carr, Dr. Joe Carr, and Dr. Scott Munsterman are not only fine teaching clinicians, they are also people of great character and integrity in the chiropractic profession. All of us love the chiropractic profession, these Dr's are helping us build it up. I highly recommend any DC to challenge themselves and enroll and see for yourself. I will do it again in a heartbeat. Thanks Best Practices for giving me back that spark for my love of Chiropractic.

The “clinical pearls” gained from networking with other like minded doctors has allowed me to go back and look at some of my difficult cases differently and solve them.

The Best Practices Academy is a very refreshing approach to improving your clinical diagnostic skills. The limited class size and course structure allowed attendees to share with each other their practical experiences and approaches both in diagnostic/ testing and the clinical chiropractor care. With health care costs increasing, the provider’s care is becoming more economically driven. We must show how chiropractic can be a pace setter in both efficiency of care and in desirable outcomes. To do this the chiropractor must be equipped with the best diagnostic skills and clinical capabilities. The Best Practice Academy provided this in their very concentrated, no-nonsense, and well structured seminar.

One of the best chiropractic diagnostic seminar symposiums I have attended in my 30 years of practice!
